Guidelines for purchasing, commissioning, and shipping original artwork from Chitrakala Hub.
1. Originality & Authenticity
All paintings displayed and sold on Chitrakala Hub are 100% original, handcrafted artworks conceived and painted exclusively by artist Malati Debnath. We do not sell mass-printed canvas reproductions, giclée digital prints, or machine-assisted art unless explicitly labeled as limited edition prints.
Every original painting comes with an official, physical Certificate of Authenticity hand-signed by the artist.
2. Intellectual Property & Copyright
The purchase of a physical artwork grants the buyer ownership of the physical canvas. However, all intellectual property rights, reproduction rights, and copyright remain the sole property of artist Malati Debnath. The buyer may not commercially reproduce, scan, print, or distribute copies of the artwork for commercial profit without prior written authorization.
3. Commissioned Artworks
Clients may commission bespoke paintings. The commission process is governed by the following terms:
- A non-refundable advance deposit of 50% is required to secure materials and schedule the studio creation slot.
- The artist will share mid-point video updates or photos for approval on broad color harmony and composition.
- The remaining balance plus shipping fees (if applicable) must be cleared prior to final packaging and dispatch.
4. Shipping, Transit & Packaging
We ship artworks across all states in India and globally. Due to the high value and delicate nature of canvas paintings:
- Large-format canvases are packed in custom wooden museum-grade crates or thick PVC tubes with moisture-barrier and shock-absorbing layers.
- All shipments are fully insured for transit risk.
- Tracking details are provided as soon as the artwork is dispatched with our art courier partners.
5. Color Representation Disclaimer
We photograph all artworks under controlled daylight gallery lighting. However, please note that slight color variations may exist between your digital device screen (calibrated differently across mobile phones, laptops, and tablets) and the rich physical pigments, textures, and gold wash on canvas under natural indoor lighting.
